Happy Birthday, Jane Austen!

Greetings All!

Welcome to my blog! I am currently working on a play based on Jane Austen's life. I will be writing about my work on the play, as well as Jane Austen (JA) related activities and info.

December 16th is Jane Austen's 234th Birthday. I was lucky enough to celebrate a special Birthday Tea with some members of the Montreal chapter of the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA) http://jasna.org/ .

I am a new member and I was warmly welcomed as we chatted about JA, enjoyed some tasty snacks and even a champagne toast! We were also treated to one member's lighthearted gothic horror adpatation of Sense and Sensibility and another member presented a paper which compared and contrasted the lives and works of Jane Austen and Fanny Burney.

On the reasearch front, I am current reading Regency Etiquette - The Mirror of Graces by a Lady of Distinction (a book on etiquette and fashion for women, published in 1811) and re-reading Nothanger Abbey.
